As in many Catholic dioceses throughout Canada, the Archdiocese of Moncton has called upon a few of its faithful to share the Gospel of Christ as permanent deacons. The Church of Moncton was indeed happy to celebrate, on Saturday April 14th, our first ordination since the restoration of the diaconate as a full and permanent order in the Church. Deacon André Deveaux became an ordained minister, accepting the mission entrusted to him by his bishop. The celebration, presided over by the Most Reverend Valéry Vienneau, was held at 10 o’clock in Ste-Thérèse church at Dieppe, with a large number of our diocesan faithful in attendance for this happy event.
