National Historic Monument Designation for Moncton’s Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral, August 15th
On August 15, 2017, the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, MP Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, has announced that the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada have added Moncton’s Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral to its list of national historic monuments.
Invitation to a special celebration on August 15. The unveiling of a plaque commemorating the national historic significance of OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHEDRAL will take place on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 11 a.m., following the mass at 10 a.m. The mass (in French) will be presided by Archbishop Valéry Vienneau. The unveiling of the plaque will be a bilingual ceremony organized jointly by Parks Canada, the Archdiocese of Moncton, Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Parish, the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Foundation, the City of Moncton and the Congrès mondial acadien.
